Heavy Monsoon rains to remain on the backseat over Kolkata

The Southwest Monsoon 2017 has finally marked its arrival in Kolkata. After a long wait, the residents of Kolkata have finally seen the onset of Monsoon which they desperately have been craving for.

On and off rains are continuing throughout Kolkata but rains are expected to pick up more pace only around June 19. Along with this, Gangetic West Bengal and Kolkata will be splashed by Monsoon rains by the end of the month.

In the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Monday light Monsoon rain of 7 mm was witnessed by Kolkata.

As per Skymet weather, a trough is expected to form over West Bengal right from Sub-Himalayan West Bengal to Gangetic West Bengal leading to increasing intensity of rain.

Though extremely heavy rains are not likely intensity is going to increase, these weather activities will make the weather pleasant. This is the best time to visit Kolkata for experiencing the Monsoon rains and serene beauty of the river Hooghly.

Till then the weather will remain warm and humid. People of Kolkata will face uncomfortable weather situations till June 19.
