Here’s how April is ending on a blazing noteWhile the month of March ended on a comparatively hotter note, temperatures were still not sky high. Heatwave had gripped several parts of the country, but as April crept in, maximums witnessed a significant drop.

Also, for a brief period, several places observed temperatures close to the normal levels. However, soon weather gods decided to convert almost the entire country into a heatwave zone. Severe heatwave started to affect several areas in East India during the second week of April.

After the first week of comfortable April, record-breaking temperatures were observed during the second and third week of the month. While Bankura saw a whopping 46.7 degrees as its maximum, Titlagarh seared at 48.5 degrees. The once pleasant Bangalore has also witnessed the hottest day ever during the month of April. Heatwave conditions also spread their wings to Tamil Nadu.

Kozhikode in Kerala also recorded the highest maximum in 49 years. Telangana and Andhra Pradesh continued to remain hot. In fact, Hyderabad also saw the hottest day in April in over four decades. The intense heatwave has killed more than 150 so far across the country.

Cities including Bhubaneswar, Ranchi, and Patna also witnessed record-breaking maximums. While temperatures on April 1 were mostly in the mid-30s, in just a span of three weeks, the mercury kept increasing each day after the first week.

While April began on a comparatively comfortable not, temperatures have witnessed a sharp rise during the last two weeks. Also, the heatwave spell has been prolonged with no relief in the form of Pre-Monsoon showers.

Let’s take a look at the difference in maximums on April 1 and April 24 Here’s how April is ending on a blazing note

Unfortunately, these weather conditions will continue to soar for the entire month. No relief is likely at least until April 30. However, the first week of May will bring in some relief in the form of Pre-Monsoon showers. Until then, be prepared to witness even hotter weather conditions.
