Incessant Monsoon rains continue over West Coast

June 23, 2016 6:00 PM |

Rain in KeralaModerate to heavy Monsoon showers continued to mar several parts of Konkan & Goa, Coastal Karnataka and adjoining parts of North Kerala. Few places have also recorded very heavy to extremely heavy rain and thundershowers.

According to Skymet Weather, Monsoon has been vigorous along the West Coast on account of an active off-shore trough running from Konkan & Goa to Coastal Karnataka.

Moreover, two fresh Monsoon systems in mid-levels can be seen on either side of the Indian Coast. Presently seen in form of cyclonic circulations, one is marked over Central Arabian Sea off the Karnataka coast, while the other is seen in southwest Bay of Bengal off the Andhra Pradesh and North Tamil Nadu Coast.

During the next 24 hours, similar weather activity will continue over the region. Further with these systems getting more marked, we expect Monsoon rains to enhance further by June 26.

Following are the rainfall figures recorded across the above mentioned region in span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday.
