Indo-Gangetic Plains to See Sunny Skies After Rainy Spell:

February 4, 2024 12:44 PM |

After experiencing a week of rain and hailstorms brought by multiple Western disturbances, the weather in the Indo-Gangetic plains is set to take a dry turn. While light to moderate rain may persist today, February 4th, most states in Northwest and East India can expect mostly clear skies from tomorrow onwards.

The departing Western disturbance and fading cyclonic circulation will mark the end of the recent precipitation. Snowfall over the Western Himalayas will also cease, paving the way for dry and cold winds to sweep down from the mountains. These winds are expected to bring a significant drop in minimum temperatures across North West India.

While the days may become comfortably cooler due to the absence of rain and clouds, dense fog conditions are likely to return over parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and West Uttar Pradesh during the next 48 hours. This could potentially disrupt morning commutes and visibility, so exercising caution is advised.

Overall, the Indo-Gangetic plains can expect a shift towards clear and dry weather in the coming days. However, residents should remain mindful of the potential for dense fog, especially during the early morning hours.
