Intense winter rains lash Jaipur, Sikar, Bundi today

January 24, 2019 5:48 PM |

Rain in RajasthanAgainst expectation, Rajasthan rains made a surprising appearance. According to Skymet Weather, Thursday evening saw short spell of intense rains and thundershowers lashing various parts of the state like Jaipur, Sikar and Bundi.

As per weathermen, these rains could be purely attributed to the local development as presently, there is no significant weather system prevailing over the region. It was the availability of humidity in the atmosphere and rise in temperatures that led to development of thunderclouds over the region.

Rains were patchy but intense in nature and were strictly confined to some areas only. These showers would only last up to 3-4 hours, dissipating thereafter.

In wake of this, sky had already become cloudy during the afternoon hours across many parts of East Rajasthan.

Any widespread heavy rains are ruled out and activity would be only for shorter duration. We expect weather to clear up soon and probability of rains would be almost nil. However, with humid easterly winds still blowing over the region, there will be ample moisture available in the atmosphere.

With no rains, mercury would start rising. The combination of both might lead to some thundery activity. But as we said these activities would not be heavy or widespread.
