The saga of dry and warm weather over Rajasthan has been persisting since the month began. Though a few traces of rains did show up in parts of the state during the initial days and the mid days of the month. These rainy spells were very light in nature and did no wonders to the rising mercury levels that stayed to rest near the 40-degree mark.

A few districts like Jaisalmer and Churu even got to see rains in the last 48 hours but the other districts of Rajasthan mainly remained dry. However, some showers along with dust storm is paving the way towards the desert state, says Skymet Weather.

Skymet Weather reiterates that a cyclonic circulation is over southwest Rajasthan and adjoining Pakistan and hence rains are expected to pour over isolated places of Rajasthan in the next 24-48 hours. Moreover, another cyclonic circulation is over Punjab and adjoining Pakistan and thus, this weather system is expected to give mainly light to moderate showers at a few places over North Rajasthan.

Hence, districts like Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu, and Sikar may record light to moderate showers within the next 24-48 hours. The capital city Jaipur may also witness very light traces of rains within the next 24-48 hours.

As these showers are pre-Monsoon, true to their nature, they will arrive during the late night or early morning hours. Temperatures will settle between the ranges of 39-40°C.

As of June 18, West Rajasthan is rain surplus by 50% while East Rajasthan is near normal and is merely rain deficient by 2%.
