The rain in east and east central India has spread up to Delhi from coastal Orissa across north Chhattisgarh, east Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, south Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Light to moderate rain will be witnessed in these areas during the next two days as the low pressure area that is situated over Orissa and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal is expected to move westward to be positioned over northeast Madhya Pradesh by tomorrow.
Gangetic West Bengal, north Orissa, northeast Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Uttar Pradesh and south Bihar will remain under the influence of this southeasterly surge during the next 24 to 48 hours. There could be moderate rain at one or two places in these areas.
This surge will continue to reach Delhi and NCR region through the border areas of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. Allahabad, Varanasi, Kanpur, Jhansi, Gwalior and Agra will receive light to moderate rain in this period. Temperatures in Delhi may fall significantly owing to rain and cloudy sky tomorrow.
The moist winds will also affect Uttarakhand and bring light rain to the area in coming two days. The weather system will be centered over central India in Madhya Pradesh after the next 48 hours due to which southern parts of Madhya Pradesh may experience rain.
As the southwesterly winds have started conglomerating around the low pressure area, rain will decrease over south central region i.e. Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, north interior Karnataka and Vidarbha during the next two days. However, north coastal Andhra Pradesh and north Tamil Nadu will witness light rain.
The offshore trough (region of intensified moist winds) from Kerala to Karnataka coast will continue to persist. Rain will continue over these areas as well as in south interior Karnataka.
Northeast region will continue to witness above average temperatures as rain will remain subdued. Some parts of Arunachal Pradesh and adjoining Assam will have above normal temperatures up to 8 degrees. Meanwhile, southern parts may experience rain at a few places.
