March began on a dry note for Delhi wherein some pockets of the city remained under the influence of clouds, mist or haze. However, the cloudy weather that prevailed in Delhi-NCR failed to give any rains over the city.

In fact, the month of February also went absolutely dry for Delhi and NCR, with rains missing almost the entire month. While the adjoining regions of Haryana and Punjab recorded some light rains on February 14, the national capital remained dry.

As per Skymet Weather, a Western Disturbance is presently affecting Jammu and Kashmir region. An induced cyclonic circulation is also seen over Central Pakistan and adjoining Punjab. Both the systems led to cloud over the city.

As these clouds were medium and high and occasional in nature, they were not capable of giving any rain activities over Delhi. For the next 24 hours also, not many changes are expected in the weather scenario of Delhi and NCR. The weather would continue to remain dry and warm leading to rise in both day and night temperatures. With this, temperatures would continue to settle above normal.

Thereafter, a trough is also expected to develop from Punjab to West Uttar Pradesh across Haryana around March 4. In the wake of this, Delhi is likely to receive isolated thunderstorm and thundershowers. These activities along with cloud cover would lead to a marginal drop in the day temperatures.

However, this relief would be for a shorter duration and after the passage of the weather system, the day temperatures would once again start witnessing a rise, leading to warm days and sunny skies.
