Dry weather conditions are being witnessed since last many days. However, intermittent thundershowers were observed over Maharashtra, particularly over Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha, parts of Marathwada, Konkan and Goa. All this activity took place in last 2-3 days.

According to Skymet Weather, these rains could be attributed to a convergence zone formed over the state, with amalgamation of dry north-easterly winds with humid southeasterly winds.

But now, once again the weather of Maharashtra would become dry. Night temperatures have already seen a drop by 2-4 degree-Celsius over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and parts of Rajasthan. Furthermore, fall in minimums is expected over Madhya Pradesh, parts of Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Marathwada and Gujarat region.

Also, maximum temperatures have dropped by 2-3 degree-Celsius over many parts of the state, thus making days cool and comfortable. The drop in temperatures is due to the commencement of cold northwesterly winds which have blowing over the northern and central districts of Madhya Pradesh since last 2-3 days.

During next 48 hours, we can further expect drop in temperatures, particularly the minimum temperatures over parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, parts of Vidarbha, and North Madhya Maharashtra. Thereafter, the temperatures will supposedly stabilize. Night temperatures have already touched below 10 degree-Celsius mark at some places and at rest of the regions it is around 12-13 degree-Celsius. However, it is expected that the minimums could come down to single digits as well.

In the coming day, no major change in the weather is expected. Day would remain comfortable while nights will be cool with a nip in the air.
