July 27, 2016 4:24 PM |

Rajasthan Weather

During last two weeks, West Rajasthan has remained under scanner as the rainfall in this region has remained deficient or scanty. Owing to scanty rainfall, the rainfall deficiency has also been increasing in West Rajasthan in comparison to East Rajasthan.

At present, the eastern parts of Rajasthan are rainfall surplus by 26%. On the other hand, West Rajasthan is rainfall deficit by 29%.

Though some parts of Rajasthan have received rain in last 24 hours and light rain is expected over East and West Rajasthan in coming days as well.

The cyclonic circulation which is prevailing  over West Madhya Pradesh, adjoining Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, is giving fairly widespread rains over South and East Rajasthan. In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Tuesday, Udaipur recorded heavy rainfall of 71 mm.

Scattered rains were recorded in parts of South and East Rajasthan including , Tonk 19.6 mm, followed by Pali 20 mm, Kota 10.6 mm and Chittorgarh 10 mm.

Further this system will continue to prevail over West Madhya Pradesh, adjoining Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, and East Rajasthan will see fair good amounts of rain for next 24 hours on account of this system.

While this rain can improve the rainfall figure over East Rajasthan, it may not be instrumental in shrinking the high rainfall deficiency of West Rajasthan.
