In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday, Kochi Airport observatory recorded heavy rain to the tune of 52 mm, Kochi city 31 mm, Thiruvananthapuram 46 mm, Alapuzha 15 mm and Punalur 10 mm of rains.

In spite of good Monsoon showers, the state of Kerala is rain deficient by 27 percent.

As per Skymet Weather, the normal rain is much more than the state has been receiving nowadays. Further, we expect moderate showers with one or two heavy spells to continue over the coastal districts of the state.

Particularly, the north coastal districts would witness hefty Monsoon rains in the coming days. However, we do not expect these rains to cover up rain deficiency. Thus, rain deficiency will continue to persist.

The weather conditions across Kerala would continue to remain warm but comfortable due to on and off Monsoon rains. In fact, the sky conditions will also remain cloudy to overcast.
