For the last many days, a trough has been extending from Sub-Himalayan West Bengal to Interior Odisha, that sometimes even extends to Telangana. This trough was oscillating to east and west which is why parts of Andhra Pradesh, mainly the coastal stations of the state were experiencing on and off pre-Monsoon showers.

On the other side, Rayalaseema mainly remained dry. Moreover, almost the entire state of Telangana, barring one or two districts remained mainly dry.

The similar kind of weather prevailed over both the states during the past day as well. While parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh recorded some light to moderate with isolated heavy rains, Rayalaseema remained mainly dry. On the other hand, one or two stations of Telangana also received some light to moderate spells.

Within the span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Tuesday, Tuni recorded a whopping 57 mm of rains, Vishakhapatnam 23.6 mm, Bhadrachalam 22 mm, Khammam 7 mm, Kalingapatnam 6 mm, and Kakinada recorded mere one mm of rains.

According to Skymet Weather, now also, we expect pre-Monsoon rain and thundershowers to continue over coastal Andhra Pradesh until April 28. The cities like Vishakhapatnam, Srikakulam, Tuni, Machilipatnam, Kakinada may get to witness rains.

On the contrary, most of Telangana would remain dry. However, as the trough may shift towards east and west and thus, chances of isolated thunderstorms can be expected in parts of Telangana including in Hyderabad.

However, these thunderstorms would not affect the temperature profile much and the maximum temperatures would continue to remain above 40 degrees in most parts. Parts of Rayalaseema like Anantapur, Kurnool, Kadapa, may witness hot and dry weather conditions.
