During the past 24 hours from 08:30 am on Monday, Koraput recorded 48 mm of rains, followed by Puri 23 mm, Titlagarh 15 mm, Angul 13 mm, Sambalpur 12 mm and Bhawanipatna 3 mm.

According to Skymet Weather, a fresh weather system is brewing in the Bay of Bengal which is presently seen as a cyclonic circulation. This system is most likely to induce a low pressure area and subsequently into depression during the next two days.

In view of this, many parts of the state would witness scattered showers along with few moderate spells during the next 24 hours. Thereafter, rain intensity as well as spread is likely to increase in the next three days.

As per weathermen, the state is likely to see overcast sky, with moderate rainfall during the next 24 hours. Furthermore, the system is likely to cross the coast of Odisha, bringing heavy to very heavy showers during the next 48 hours. The same system will subsequently move inland and as a result the rain intensity will again shuffle to moderate.
