More showers expected in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu today

Scattered rains have been recorded in Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu during the last 24 hours. The Cyclonic Circulation over Interior Tamil Nadu and adjoining Interior Karnataka was responsible for these weather activities. In addition to this system, the humid winds from the Bay of Bengal were increasing the moisture content, thus making the conditions favourable for rains.

According to Skymet Weather, more scattered showers are expected in the duo states for another 48 hours. Light rain with one or two moderate spells may occur in the region. However, after next two days, as the weather systems may become feeble, the weather is likely to become dry.

Amidst rains in Tamil Nadu, the maximum temperature is expected to reduce by 2-3 degrees Celsius and increase thereafter as the rains take a backseat.

Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu do not usually see rains in February. But, there are occasions when a significant Cyclonic Circulation develops and results in rain. Moreover, the humid winds from the Bay of Bengal make the conditions conducive for such weather activities.

Post this episode, we do not expect any major rainfall activity to take place. The weather is most likely to remain dry with an increase in day and night temperatures.
