Muggy conditions likely to prevail during India, Sri Lanka tie in Asia cup

February 26, 2014 6:27 PM |

Indian cricket team's second match in the Asia Cup 2014 against Sri Lanka will be played in Fatullah on the ourskirts of Dhaka. According to latest weather update by Skymet Meteorology Division in India, weather conditions in the second match could be more demanding as afternoon will be muggy in Dhaka with high humidity and temperatures of around 30 degrees at the start of the play. This could lead to a lot of sweating and players could suffer from dehydration.

According to latest weather update by Skymet Meteorology Division, an anti-cyclonic circulation in the north Bay of Bengal would push moist sea winds towards Dhaka thus increasing the humidity levels during the afternoon when the match between India and Sri Lanka will get underway. Evening hours in Fatullah will not be favourable for the team defending the total as due factor would allow balls to come on to the bat easily while, bowlers and fielders would struggle to have a firm grip on the ball. Sky will be partly cloudy on Friday in Dhaka but chances of rain is less.

Meanwhile, in a different scenario Pakistan failed to chase down 296 against Sri Lanka in the opening match of the tournament at the same venue yesterday. While Lasith Malinga did not allow the dew factor to affect his game and claimed five wickets.
