Mumbai rains to remain on the backseat for some more time

Mumbai rains have wreaked way too much havoc during the month of August. In fact, during the fag end of the month, the maximum city received a massive 331 mm of rains resulting in widespread damage and chaos. So much so that several were also killed with the entire city suffering due to the waterlogged roads and traffic snarls.

However, the heavy rain saga only lasted until then and the next day, the city witnessed a mere 9 mm of rainfall. Thereafter, the rainfall activity kept on reducing and very light rains replaced the once torrential rains.

The last 24 hours were also not very different for the city of Mumbai as only light rainfall was recorded. During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, both Santa Cruz as well as Colaba observatory witnessed a mere 1 mm of rainfall. Not only this, other parts of Coastal Maharashtra have also witnessed a reduction in rainfall activities.

These weather conditions can be attributed to the absence of any significant weather system over the region. Thus, during the next 24 to 48 hours also, the city of Mumbai is expected to remain almost dry. However, the possibility of isolated light rains over some areas cannot be ruled out from the region.
