The entire state of Maharashtra was reeling under dry weather conditions until now. This was one of the reasons almost the entire state was witnessing above normal temperatures.
However, in the last 24 hours, a reversal in the temperature profile took place and both the day and night temperatures of Vidarbha and Marathwada witnessed a significant drop. Light rains also occurred at isolated parts.
The maximums over both the regions have now become near normal or even went beneath the normal levels. Due to this, very warm conditions that were prevailing have now become comfortable. On the contrary, the minimums of both the regions are now settling below the normal mark.

The drop in the maximums was due to the cloud cover over the entire state. On the other hand, the minimums dipped due to the commencement of northerly and northeasterly winds over the region.

The maximums that were soaring and running in mid-30’s, have come down to lower 30’s and in upper 20’s at isolated places.
In the last 24 hours, the maximums of Chandrapur and Yeotmal in the Vidarbha region settled 4 and 2 degrees beneath the normal levels respectively. While Buldhana, Wardha and Akola settled near the normal levels.
Talking about the Marathwada region, maximum in Parbhani settled 4 degrees below the normal followed by Nanded and Aurangabad that witnessed a drop of a degree in the day temperature. Parbhani also recorded some light traces of rains.
As per Skymet Weather, as of now also, light rains are expected over Vidarbha and over isolated places of Marathwada on February 11. Moreover, as the clouding has now reduced, a marginal rise in the day temperatures is also expected. Meanwhile, the minimums are expected to remain unchanged.

Farmers of Marathwada region are advised to store the harvested crop at safer places or cover it with a plastic sheet. As rainfall is expected in the coming 2-3 days, farmers must take care of their crop and harvested produce.
The farmers of East Vidarbha region are recommended to complete the sowing of Summer Groundnut and transplanting Paddy. Meanwhile, in West Vidarbha region, farmers should complete the harvesting of Bengal gram, Safflower, and Tur. Also, it is advised to store the harvested produce in shade or cover it with a plastic sheet.
