Night temperatures to rise in north India

October 30, 2013 5:51 PM |

Nights in Delhi and other parts of north India will be relatively warm as temperatures are expected to rise due to change in wind conditions for the next two days. Delhi recorded 15.4 degrees as minimum temperature on Wednesday morning but it could rise by 2 to 3 degrees in the coming two days.

Western Disturbance over Jammu & Kashmir will bring this change in the weather as northwesterly winds will give way to easterly winds. During this period, sky in Delhi will be cloudy due to which day temperatures will drop. The city recorded 32 degrees as maximum temperature on Tuesday but it will dip to settle at 29 degrees in the next two days.

Snow, rain expected in J&K, HP

However, northerly winds will resume as soon as the Western Disturbance in north India moves away. These winds will be cold due to snow and rain in the Western Himalayan region i.e. Jammu &Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. This may pull down night temperatures to below 15 degrees in the northwest plains making the start of November cooler during morning hours.

Similar weather conditions are expected to prevail in central and east India by the start of next month. At the moment, central and east India will witness rise in minimum temperatures while day temperatures may drop marginally.
