Northeast Monsoon 2017 finally makes delayed onset

After a long wait, Northeast Monsoon has finally made an onset over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, and adjoining areas of Andhra Pradesh as well as Karnataka on Friday. Northeasterly winds have strengthened over the area in the lower tropospheric levels.

Initially, the coastal region of Tamil Nadu will get good rains and thundershowers with a few heavy spells of rain. As the northeasterly winds gain more strength further, interior parts of Karnataka, Rayalaseema along with some parts of Telangana will also see the arrival of Northeast Monsoon during the next 48 hours or so.

October 31 onward, Karnataka and Rayalaseema will also get rains. So much so that a few good spells are also expected over these areas.
