Pleasant weather in Bengaluru, heavy rains to evade the city

Since the onset of Southwest Monsoon, the city of Bengaluru has not received that typical Monsoon showers that it should have. Only on and off light rains were witnessed over the Garden city throughout this period.

At present, South Interior Karnataka is rain deficient by 32%. The last 24 hours were no different and in a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Friday, the city has recorded a mere of 3 mm rainfall.

As per Skymet Weather, the off shore trough extending along the West Coast has become insignificant. Moreover, dry westerly winds are prevailing over the region. Thus, the rainfall activity is likely to decrease further over the area.

The sky will remain partly cloudy with overcast at times. There are possibilities of short spell of rain and thundershowers during afternoon hours. Morning and evening will remain pleasant.

The rain deficiency may persist throughout the month of July as heavy rains will continue to elude the cyber city.

However with incessant light showers, the maximums have not crossed the 30-degree mark. Similarly, the night temperatures stand at 20°C. For the month of July, the average rainfall for Bengaluru stands at 112.9 mm. So far, the city has recorded 23.6 mm of rains.
