The state of Uttar Pradesh has been witnessing dry weather conditions for a long time now.

However, rain and thundershower activities were observed in parts of Uttar Pradesh. Isolated places also witnessed hailstorm activities.

In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Agra recorded 1 mm of rain, Aligarh 4 mm, Allahabad 2.3 mm, Bareilly 1.9 mm, Fursatganj 11.3 mm, Lucknow 0.2 mm, Moradabad 2.6 mm, Shahjahanpur 2.6 mm and Varansi 0.2 mm.

Now, we expect rain and thundershower to continue over central and eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh till tomorrow.

In fact, rain intensity over western parts of Uttar Pradesh will start decreasing by tomorrow. Day temperatures have already decreased by 4-5°C. Days are expected to become pleasant with cloudy sky and nights will get cool and comfortable.

Although these rains are beneficial for the crops, but due to squally winds with isolated hailstorm activity, crops which are almost ready to harvest may be damaged resulting in loss to the farmers.

However, normally, during the month of February, weather remains dry and these rains are unseasonal rains. However, whenever a strong Western Disturbance and an induced cyclonic circulation occur over northern plains then rains are expected, which is the present condition.

Thus, light to moderate rain and thundershower with hailstorm at some places are expected over Agra, Aligarh, Allahabad, Ambedkar Nagar, Amethi, Auraiya, Azamgarh, Bahraich, Ballia, Balrampur, Banda, Bareilly, Bulandshahr, Etah, Fatehpur, Firozabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Kasganj, Kaushambi, Lakhimpur Kheri, Lucknow, Mathura, Mau, Meerut, Mirzapur, Moradabad, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Sambhal, Sitapur, Sonbhadra, Sultanpur, Unnao and Varanasi during next 48 hours.

By February 14, weather will be seen clearing up and day temperature will start increasing leading to warm and sunny days.
