Rain in India is precursor to change of weather, says Skymet's Meteorology Division in India

Latest weather update by Skymet's Meteorology Division in India suggests that a band of cloud can already be seen extending from Gujarat to west Uttar Pradesh, covering Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Alwar, Bharatpur, Dausa and Jaipur districts of Rajasthan could receive light rain and thundershowers by 21st evening. The cloud cover will reach Delhi and other parts of North India by tonight and bring rain in the region.

Light to moderate rain and snow are likely at many places over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. As per the Latest weather update by Skymet's Meteorology Division in India, we could also observe some hail storm in the foothills of Uttarakhand and Himachal.

As reiterated by Skymet's Meteorology Division in India, the cyclonic circulation over Rajasthan will act in tandem with the Western Disturbance in the northwestern plains to bring light rain. The system will be most active over several places in Madhya Pradesh including Bhopal, Jabalpur, Nagpur, Gwalior, Indore and Marathwada region. We can say that the present weather condition in India is a precursor to the change of weather, an indicator of what is in the offing.

Effect in temperatures

Maximums which have been on the rise since the past few days will witness a drop due to rain in North India. The national capital, Delhi, has been witnessing a gradual rise in maximums as the cold north westerly winds died down and changed to relatively humid easterlies. Yesterday, the Palam Observatory in the next two days we will see a marginal drop but the day temperatures will start rising thereafter. Similar conditions will prevail in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and west Uttar Pradesh.

A senior meteorologist of Skymet's Meteorology Division explains that minimum temperatures have also risen in parts of North India, with the progress of the circulation in Rajasthan.

In Jaipur the temperature rose from 9.7°C on Wednesday to 13.5°C on Thursday. Today morning there was a further rise in the minimum temperature that settled at 15.8°C. Similarly, in Ajmer the minimum on Thursday rose to 14.7°C from 12.4°C on Wednesday.  The night temperatures are expected to rise further in the next 24 hours.
