Rain in Pune

Intensity of rains has reduced over Maharashtra. Although on and off rains have been occurring over Konkan & Goa and Madhya Maharashtra. Vidarbha has also been receiving patchy showers.

In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Monday, Mahabaleshwar 27.6 mm, Ratnagiri 6.4 mm, Satara 4.4 mm, Vengurla 3.4 mm, Kolhapur 3.2 mm, Alibagh 2.6 mm, Osmanabad 2.5 mm, Wardha 2.2 mm, Dahanu and Harnai 1. 2mm, Gondia and Nagpur 0.7 mm, Nasik 0.3 mm.

However, weather in Madhya Maharashtra is almost dry, as Madhya Maharashtra is the only meteorological division in Maharashtra which receives very less rainfall activity throughout the Monsoon season.

In fact, due to its geographical position it seldom gets affected by the weather systems formed in the Bay of Bengal as well as the Arabian Sea.

Now also we expect weather to remain dry over Marathwada, but Vidarbha may receive few moderate spells during the next 24 hours. Meanwhile, scattered light to moderate rains will continue over Konkan & Goa and parts of Madhya Maharashtra.

The capital city, Mumbai recorded light rain to the tune of 4.9 mm during the last 24 hours. Further also we expect light rainfall activity in some localities of Mumbai.
