Monsoon Rain in Jharkhand

During the last 48 hours, the state of Jharkhand has experienced light to moderate rains at many places. Despite these rains, the state of Jharkhand is still running rain deficient by 38% as on July 27. As a matter of fact, the northern parts of Jharkhand have received less amount of rains as compared to the southern parts.

All these rains are prevailing due to presence of Axis of Monsoon Trough and a Low-Pressure Area over Jharkhand and adjoining region.

Presently, the Low-Pressure Area lies over South Jharkhand and adjoining parts of North Odisha. This system is moving further West-Northwestwards.

Hence, during the next 24 to 36 hours, the southern parts of Jharkhand might get to experience moderate rains and thundershowers at many places. While Northern parts of Jharkhand are likely to experience light spells of rain at scattered places. Places like Jamshedpur, Ranchi, Sarai Gumla, Simdega, Rampur etc might receive moderate rains and thundershowers.

The above rains might help the state recover from its ongoing rain deficiency as one after other systems are forming over Northwest Bay of Bengal.

All these rains will be very useful for present cropping systems. After 48 hours, the rain intensity is likely to decrease for a short period.
