Since September end, Southwest Monsoon has officially ended. Moreover, Monsoon has withdrawn from Rajasthan as well as Gujarat. Recently, both the states of Gujarat and Rajasthan are experiencing hot weather conditions with temperatures crossing 40° mark at many places. Scorching sun with clear sky conditions are prevalent since many days.

At present, hot and dry northwesterly winds are blowing over the state of Rajasthan.

Weathermen at Skymet expect South Rajasthan to receive rains starting October 12 and continuing till October 15 and 16. At the same time, West Rajasthan may receive moderate to heavy rainy spells around October 14.

These rains are likely to bring in huge relief from the ongoing scorching heat. Temperatures may drop significantly for the couple of days thereafter.

If we talk about the state of Gujarat, the Low-Pressure Area in the Arabian Sea will gradually intensify into a depression then into a Cyclone and move in Northwest direction.

Humid winds in Arabian sea will start increasing moisture in Gujarat due to which we expect isolated light rains to commence on October 10 over the entire state. Between October 11 and 15, many parts of the state will receive scattered rains. While the rain intensity will remain light, few moderate spells of showers cannot be ruled out. Thus, we expect relief from hot weather conditions soon to be setting in for both the states.
