rain in Northwest India

As accurately predicted by Skymet Weather, rain and thundershowers have been recorded in many parts of West Uttar Pradesh, Haryana as well as Punjab during the last 24 hours. Instances of hailstorm have been reported from parts of Haryana. Delhi also saw light to moderate showers during the same span. Meanwhile, North and East Rajasthan recorded isolated rains.

All these weather activities can be attributed to the Trough that has been extending from Punjab to West Uttar Pradesh across Haryana.

According to our meteorologists, the fresh Western Disturbance over the Western Himalayas has induced a Cyclonic Circulation over Rajasthan and adjoining area. And a Trough is extending up to East Uttar Pradesh across Haryana.

Due to the combined effect of all these systems, the rainfall activities are likely to increase today. There may be a few intense spells of rain and thundershowers in parts of Punjab, Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh during night hours. The National Capital Territory of Delhi may observe significant rains on March 6.

Rain and thundershowers would be accompanied by hailstorm activities in parts of Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab and Northwest Rajasthan. There are chances of strong winds and lightning strikes in a few parts of the northwestern plains.
