Rain in Maharashtra

Subdued Monsoon conditions have taken over most parts of Maharashtra. And it is only the Konkan and Goa region that has experienced a few light to moderate spells during the last 24 hours. Rains, as usual, have remained isolated and light in the region of Marathwada during this period. Mumbai rains too were only patchy.

In a span of 24 hours, from 8:30 am on Wednesday, Vengurla received 24 mm rainfall, followed by Harnai 10 mm, Ratnagiri 9 mm, Mahabaleshwar 7 mm.

According to our meteorologists, some scattered showers would reappear in parts of Vidarbha during the next 24 hours. Places like Nagpur, Gondia, Chandrapur, Wardha, Washim, and Yavatmal would receive scattered light to moderate rain and thundershowers.

On the other hand, no significant change is expected in the weather of Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada. These meteorological divisions would experience almost dry weather with isolated light rains for the next three to four days.

Pune in Madhya Maharashtra would experience almost dry weather with light rains. Likewise, Mumbai rains would be patchy only.

The scenario of weather in Konkan and Goa is likely to change around September 2 or 3, wherein rainfall activities would increase over the region. During this period, moderate Mumbai rains are expected to return, however, the showers won’t be heavy as to disrupt normal life in the city.
