Rajasthan observing pleasant weather conditions

Rajasthan rainRajasthan in northwest India is one pocket where rainfall activity in the last 3 to 4 days has been good. Temperatures have also been recording below normal by 4-5 degrees. While dust storms have been a common feature in the state for the last one week.

According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, in a span of 24 hours from 8.30 am on Wednesday, Barmer recorded 36.8 mm of rain. This figure is more than the monthly average rainfall of 30.9 mm. During the same period, Ajmer recorded 8.6 mm of rain, while Udaipur and Pilani received 7.6 mm and 3.9 mm of rain, respectively.

The temperatures have also dropped due to prolonged spell of rain in the region. For instance, Barmer saw the day temperature settle at 36.5°C on Wednesday, which is 6 degrees below normal. Bikaner recorded 35.2°C as the maximum, which is a good 8 degrees below the monthly average.

In Udaipur the maximum settled at 30.4°C, which is a drop of 9 degrees. Pilani and Jodhpur saw the day temperatures settle 7 degrees below normal at 33.5°C and 34.9°C, respectively.

The night temperatures have also been registering a good drop. They are settling in the low twenties, which is 5 to 6 degrees below the monthly average. Ganganagar recorded a minimum of 19°C on Thursday morning, while Bikaner saw the minimum settle 6 degrees below normal at 22.5°C.

Meanwhile, weather models at Skymet show clear sky conditions in the region for next 2-4 days due to which the temperatures are expected to rise now.
