Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Daltonganj brace for good rains

Ranchi records first three digit rainfall of the season, highest in a decade

Jharkhand has been fortunate enough to witness rains almost throughout the month of July and August too followed the suit and legacy of rains. Pardoning one or two days, otherwise, most districts of the state had been recording on and off showers.

In fact, the last 24 hours were Rainy too for the state wherein Jamshedpur recorded heavy three-digit rains to the tune of 104 mm. The other districts of Jharkhand that have recorded good rains during the similar time frame include Chaibasa that witnessed a whopping 51.2 mm of rains, Ranchi 35 mm, Bokaro 25.6 mm, and Daltonganj 14.9 mm of rains.

As per Skymet Weather, the cyclonic circulation which was over North Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas has moved northwest and is presently seen over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining regions. Moreover, the axis of monsoon trough also lies in the lowlands of the Himalayas.

Moreover, a north-south trough is likely to develop from the Monsoon trough running from East Uttar Pradesh to south Odisha across Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand. The cyclonic systems in the parts of East India can also contribute to these rains.

As of now, moderate rains are likely to continue at many places with a few heavy showers for the next 24-48 hours. Thus, the districts such as Jamshedpur, Ranchi, and Daltonganj can brace for some moderate to heavy spells. Thereafter, as the weather system is likely to move westwards, the intensity of rains is expected to decrease.
