Coastal Andhra Pradesh has witnessed excess rain this Monsoon season and similarly, Rayalaseema region has also recorded good rains. A cyclonic circulation which is over southwest Bay of Bengal off Tamil Nadu coast will move in the northwest direction towards Andhra Pradesh, therefore, we expect light to moderate rains at many places over Rayalaseema and at a few places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
As per Skymet Weather, these rains will continue for the next two days. As anticipated by Skymet Weather, during the last two to three days, many parts of Andhra Pradesh witnessed good rains. In last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Tuesday, Rentachintala witnessed heavy rain to the tune of 102 mm and Ongole 52.6 mm of rain.
In the same span of time, Machilipatnam recorded 14.2 mm of moderate Monsoon shower, Cuddappah 12.8 mm, Vijayawada 9.4 mm and Tirupati 21.6 mm of rain. Anantapur and Kurnool also received light intensity showers. The rainfall activities were due to a north south trough which was running from Interior Odisha to South Tamil Nadu across Andhra Pradesh. Weather will become comfortable and these will give a huge relief from dry weather conditions particularly over Rayalaseema.
Temperatures have already become normal and they may fall further by two to three degrees. The weather has also become pleasant due to rains and hence comfortable conditions are prevailing. As on September 5, Coastal Andhra Pradesh is rain surplus by 24 percent and Rayalaseema by 18 percent rains.
