Severe heatwave grips parts of Gujarat, no relief in next 24 hoursIt seems like weather gods are not so happy with the state of Gujarat. While the region was witnessing close to normal temperatures last week, tides have turned and hot weather has made a comeback over the region.

Temperatures which were settling in the late 30 degrees have not only reached the 40-degree mark but are also running beyond it. A few areas are observing maximums settling in the mid-40s. These weather conditions are attributed to the inflow of north northeasterly winds blowing from the Pakistan region.

These winds are hot and dry in nature and are coming from the country of Pakistan where maximums have even crossed the 45-degree mark as well. The absence of any weather system over the region also plays a role in the increased maximums over the state of Gujarat.

Kandla in the state is the hottest city in the country today. Other parts have also been a part of the list. Let’s take a look at the table below depicting the maximum temperatures.
