The Weather Systems Over The Country

Conditions are becoming favorable for the further advance of the Southwest Monsoon into more parts of Maharashtra, the remaining parts of Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, and additional parts of Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, and Chhattisgarh during the next 3 to 4 days.

At present, a cyclonic circulation is persisting over the south coast of Odisha and adjoining north coastal Andhra Pradesh at 3.1 km above mean sea level. In addition, a trough extends from this cyclonic circulation to south Tamil Nadu across the southwest Bay of Bengal at the same altitude.

Weather Activities During The Last 24 Hours

During the last 24 hours, light to moderate rain with a few heavy spells occurred over Northeast India and Arunachal Pradesh.

Light to moderate rain activity was also observed over Sikkim, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Odisha, parts of Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, parts of Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Marathwada, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Jammu & Kashmir.

Thunderstorm, dust storm, and rain activities were reported over Rajasthan, Delhi, and parts of Haryana.

Meanwhile, light rain occurred over Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Lakshadweep.

Forecast

During the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain with a few heavy spells may continue over Northeast India.

Light to moderate rain is also likely over the Western Himalayas, Sikkim, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, parts of Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, and western Uttar Pradesh.

Thunderstorms accompanied by light to moderate rain may occur over Haryana, Delhi, parts of Rajasthan, and Punjab. Light rain is possible over Vidarbha, Konkan and Goa, Chhattisgarh, and eastern Bihar.

Heat wave conditions may persist at isolated places over Vidarbha and Rajasthan.
