The region of South India did perform well during the Southwest Monsoon season. Tamil Nadu has been quite a decent performer at 45 percent excess which is a record large range.
Rains continue in the post Monsoon season now., In the month of October, rains are surplus by 38 percent so far. Northeast Monsoon is yet to settle in.
More showers are expected in Tamil Nadu including Chennai. Last 24 hours also saw some good rainfall activity. In view if the Low Pressure Area over Southeast Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea, rains may see an increase along with an Eastwest trough is extending from the system reaching Tamil Nadu.
