Madhya Pradesh has been bestowed upon with good rains from the last couple of days. In fact, the last 24 hours were almost like a bouquet of rains lashing over parts of Madhya Pradesh, particularly over the eastern districts of the state with one or two stations even recording extremely heavy rains which are expected to continue.
In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Tuesday, Rewa and Satna both observed a three-digit rainfall tuning to the amount of 154.2 mm and 136 mm respectively. A few other regions too observed light to moderate spells. During the similar time frame, Khajuraho recorded 31.3 mm of rains, Sidhi 26 mm and Umaria witnessed 22 mm of rainy spells.

However, Monsoon rains were not very fortunate for the western districts of the state which is why districts such as Bhopal, Gwalior, and Indore failed to witness good rains. Gwalior and Indore manage to record 0.1 mm and 1.2 mm of rains respectively while Bhopal has to settle with no traces of rains during the time frame mentioned above.

The reason for these rains as per Skymet Weather can be associated with a low-pressure area which is over East Uttar Pradesh. This low-pressure area is likely to intensify into a well-marked low-pressure area. And is expected to gradually move towards West Madhya Pradesh.
On account of this, most parts of the state are expected to witness moderate to heavy rains with isolated heavy showers for the next 24-48 hours. Thereafter, as the rain-belt is expected to move towards the western parts of the country, particularly towards Gujarat, the rain intensity over Madhya Pradesh is likely to witness a slight reduction.
