During the winter season, while the northern parts of the country see intense weather activities, it is the state of Gujarat that remains free of any such activities. The only time any kind of weather activity is seen is when a system develops in proximity of the state. Therefore, winters in Gujarat is basically defined by the fluctuation in the temperatures, whenever that occurs.
Talking about the current weather conditions of the state, there are chances of rainfall activity in parts of Gujarat on January 27 and 28. While January 27 will have Saurashtra and Kutch observing rains, South Gujarat will observe rains on January 28. Thus cities of Surat and Valsad will see some rains and rain belt may extend up to Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Vadodara.
A Western Disturbance is expected to approach the Western Himalayas, which will induce a Circulation over northern plains of the country and cause rains over these areas. Moreover, merging of two opposite winds will take place in proximity of Gujarat, which will result in some rains over these areas.
These rainfall activities will remain very light in nature and heavy showers are completely ruled out. During the time of rains, minimum temperatures will increase in Gujarat, however, after that these temperatures will witness a drop as well.
