February 8, 2017 12:34 PM |

Spring in DelhiWinters bid adieu to Delhi-NCR, as warm and sunny days marks the onset of the spring season. Weather conditions have already started changing as we no more feel that winter chill in the winds during the afternoon hours. Day is fairly comfortable and pleasant. Though there is slight nip in the weather during the night and morning hours but even night temperatures are settling near normal.

As we proceed further in the month of February, the mercury will continue to increase and wintry conditions will not make a comeback. Though, mercury may drop by a degree or two during the next 24 hours but it will not make much of a difference.

On Wednesday morning, Safdarjung Observatory recorded minimum temperature of 9°C, while maximum temperatures settled 22, which was a degree below normal.

Weathermen predict that bright sunshine will lead to further increase in the day temperatures in the coming days.

Ever since the beginning of the February, temperatures have been playing seesaw with Delhi-NCR. Both the day and night temperatures settled below normal till February 3, while they had risen above normal significantly by 5-6 degrees from February 4-6.

For the second consecutive year, Delhi and plains of Northwest India has witnessed relatively warm winters. In fact, 2016 was the hottest year on the earth.
