Weather forecast for the week in India from 2nd June to 8th June

North and Northwest India: After receiving good amounts of rain during the weekend, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are going to remain mostly dry as no significant weather system (Western Disturbance) is foreseen during the week. According to the latest weather update by Skymet Meteorology Division in India, day temperatures will rise in the hilly states and even if a Western Disturbance approaches the region, it will not cause much rain during the week.

For Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi and west Uttar Pradesh in the plains, things are going to be a little different due to sustaining heat conditions. According to the latest weather update by Skymet Meteorology Division in India, due to lack of any weather system, continuance of dry and hot westerly winds could give a period of very hot spell over the entire region as temperatures will remain above normal throughout the week.

Central and Eastcentral India

Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh will also observe very hot spell as dry and hot northerly winds will be blowing throught the region. Day temperatures are expected to remain in early forties in these states with some places observing temperatures in the mid-forties during the week.

East & Northeast India

Regions of east Uttar Pradesh, north Bihar and north West Bengal, lying in the foothills of the Himalayas will observe controlled day temperatures due to rainy and cloudy weather. Rain will also continue in the Northeastern states as winds will be southwesterly during the week. However, heat will be felt in some of the areas of east Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand as maximum temperatures will rise gradually.

South India

Rain will remain subdued in most parts of southern peninsula. Kerala will continue observing rain. Skymet Meteorology Division in India maintains that conditions similar to Monsoon will persist in Kerala with variation in intensity of rain during the week. Day temperatures will drop during the weekend and will be similar to those observed during Monsoon period.
