Let us take a look at the weather forecast for the week:
Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh along with North Uttarakhand are likely to see good rains with possibility of hailstorm until June 12. Thereafter, weather will become dry for some time with rains beginning again on June 15. South Uttarakhand will see light rains for the next two days 16 and 17.
Northern Plains will see a relief from heat wave conditions after tomorrow. Light dust storm will begin over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and Northwest Uttar Pradesh for two days. On June 15 and 16, Punjab, North Haryana, Delhi, North Rajasthan may see some light dust storm and thunderstorm.
Gujarat is expected to see rains from June 12, due to upcoming Cyclone Vayu brewing in Arabian Sea. Heavy to very heavy rains are expected over Kutch and coastal areas while interiors will see moderate showers from June 13 and 16. Thereafter also, isolated rains may be seen.
Konkan and Goa will begin to see heavy rains, with rains increasing over Mumbai on June 12 and 13. Light to moderate rains will continue through the week. Vidarbha will see relief from heat wave conditions. Interior parts of Maharashtra may also see some rains through the week. Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are likely to see on and off rains.
Kerala and Coastal Karnataka are expected to see some rains for an entire week. Thunderstorm activity may be seen in interior parts of the Southern Peninsula, remaining on the lighter side. Scattered on and off rains are expected over South Karnataka in the coming days. The states of Telangana, Andhra, Tamil Nadu will only see isolated thunderstorm. Heat wave conditions in North Telangana will see a relief in the coming days.
East and Northeast India
In the next 48 hours, light rains are expected over Northeast India. After that, moderate to heavy rains will be seen over entire Northeast India. Sikkim, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and North Bihar may see scattered moderate rains through the week. Isolated thunderstorm may be seen in Jharkhand, West Bengal and South Bihar. Coastal Odisha may see isolated rain while interior regions will continue to reel under hot and humid weather.
