Weather in 5 states of Northeast India during second phase polls

April 8, 2014 2:22 PM |

The high-stake battle of ideals and ideologies between BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party), the ruling Congress, AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) and few other regional satraps, to rule the country has begun. Five constituencies in Assam and one in Tripura went for the polls on Monday, amidst tight security in Northeast India.

The second polling day on 9th April will cover seven constituencies in five Northeastern states of Arunachal Pradesh (2), Manipur (1), Meghalaya (2), Mizoram (1), and Nagaland (1). Here’s a look at the weather conditions in these states.

Weather in Northeast India on 9th April

Rain in the northeastern states, going for polls on the 9th of April, will be sporadic. Since it has been raining for the last 48 hours in this part of the country temperatures will not be too high and settle in the range of 32°C to 34°C. But with humidity present in the air the weather will be sultry and uncomfortable, according to latest weather update by Skymet Meteorology Division in India.

Arunachal Pradesh has a mountainous terrain and thus, temperatures will be comfortable as compared to the Assam Valley. In Meghalaya, the two constituencies of Shillong and Tura will be better off due to their elevated terrain.

Rain is likely during early morning and evening hours in all the 7 constituencies of the five northeastern states going to the polls, so it is advisable to carry an umbrella to the polling stations.
