State of Uttar Pradesh is up against moderate to heavy monsoon rainfall, albeit in a staggered manner, shifting from west to east. Weather activity will continue till the month end, commencing anytime soon from West Uttar Pradesh, covering both, plains and foothills. Wet spell will travel across the complete stretch of the state and cover the last posts of East Uttar Pradesh.
Low pressure area is marked over North Madhya Pradesh and Southwest Uttar Pradesh. The weather system is nearly going asleep over the region and likely to stay put for the next 48hr. Thereafter, the circulation of low pressure will be shifting over West Uttar Pradesh and gradually move along the plains to Central and Eastern parts of the state. The monsoon trough is getting dragged along and is oscillating across the stretch of the state. Combined influence of this duo will result nearly week long weather activity, though in stages, to cover most parts.
West and Southwestern parts of the state will include Aligarh, Mathura, Agra, Meerut, Moradabad, Bijnor, Pilibhit, Bareilly, Rampur, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Etah and Hardoi. These places will be at risk of having moderate to heavy showers with lightning and thunderstorm.
Central parts of the state covering Kanpur, Lucknow and Prayagraj will also stand chance for strong weather activity. The rain and thundershowers will travel eastward to cover the last posts of the state covering Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Kushinagar, Deoria, Ballia, Azamgarh and Ghazipur.
State of Uttar Pradesh has been the most deficit in rainfall during the monsoon season. Despite few spells of good rains in the last week, West and East Uttar Pradesh have seasonal shortfall of 40% and 32% respectively. This wet spell may marginally compensate inadequacy of rainfall. These rains are going to ease out during the opening days of next month, more so for West Uttar Pradesh. Southwest monsoon will be nearing withdrawal from this pocket during that period.
