Onset of SW Monsoon has triggered sowing of Cotton, although the pace is slow against last year. The Monsoon to gain strength over cotton growing areas in the coming days. Area under cotton sowing were 2 million hectares for the week ended June 19 against 2.813 million hectares a year-ago period, according to Agriculture Ministry.
