China experiences freezing winter all over the country barring the South and some places in the Southwest, where weather conditions remain warm and sunny. Places such as Hong Kong, Macau, Hainan Island, Xishuangbanna and Panning come in the south. These warm places are comfortable winter escapes for people in the colder climates.
Winter is the coldest season in China from December to February. January is considered as the coldest month with average temperature lower than 0℃, covering two thirds of China.
