Dry weather to rule Chicago, NYC, Boston over the weekend

June 30, 2016 4:44 PM |

US Independence Day

While storms could approach northeastern parts of United States during the July Fourth weekend, most of the places will still remain dry. A weather system moving from west to east this Friday is likely to pull some moisture from the southern states, thus inducing some thundershower activity.

A fortifying rush of less moist air will possibly take over on Saturday and continue till Sunday over many parts of the region. Thus, both days will have partial sunshine. Northern New England and northeastern New York State may receive light showers on Saturday.

Presumably, the air will be cooler over the interior pockets of Northeast and around the Great Lakes, and temperatures might shift between 4-10 degree Celsius over the foothills particularly during night. Temperature will be around 21 degree Celsius during the day hours.

Rain and thundershowers are likely over parts of Ohio and Tennessee Valleys extending up to part of mid-Atlantic during  the celebratory weekend.

While storms might occur in Kentucky, West Virginia, northern Maryland and the southern parts of Ohio, Indiana and Illinois this Monday, the rains could shift to northeast into pockets of Pennsylvania, Delaware and southern New Jersey late in the day and in evenings.

These showers could ruin the planned fireworks displays on Monday in parts of mid-Atlantic, including Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and Pittsburg. As for now, it seems that dry weather will rule the New York City.
