Weather Forecast for Aug 24: Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Delhi to see Monsoon rains

To start with north first, a fresh Western Disturbance is seen over North Pakistan. Along with this, an induced cyclonic circulation is marked over Central Pakistan. Moreover, the axis of Monsoon trough is running across Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

So, light rain is likely at one or two places over Jammu and Kashmir, whereas Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, North Punjab, North Haryana and parts of West Uttar Pradesh may receive light to moderate rains. One or two heavy spells also cannot be ruled out over these areas. Delhi and nearby districts may see short spells.

Coming to central region, few spells of rain are possible over Chhattisgarh and parts of north and East Madhya Pradesh. Rains will remain subdued over rest of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and North Gujarat. Scattered rain may occur over southern districts of Gujarat.

Moving to east & northeast side, a cyclonic circulation is marked over Jharkhand and adjoining areas. With this, scattered light to moderate rains are expected over Southeast Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha. While light rain will occur over Bihar and northeastern states.

Down South, North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining Telangana will witness light to moderate rains. Scattered light to moderate rains are possible over Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka and North Kerala.

Meanwhile, Rains will remain subdued over Madhya Maharashtra, Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu.
