Weather Forecast for July 21: Heavy rain in Bihar and Northeast; light rain in Mumbai, Chennai

The axis of the Monsoon trough is running close to the foothills of the Himalayas. Tomorrow, we could also see a cyclonic circulation lying over Bihar and adjoining parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal. These two weather systems will continue to give heavy to very heavy rainfall over parts of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. Vigorous Monsoon conditions will be observed over Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh as well.

Weather will be mainly dry in the northwest plains, right across Punjab, Haryana, Delhi- NCR, North Rajasthan and North Madhya Pradesh.

A fresh Monsoon system is now lying over west-central Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh coast. This will bring fairly widespread rainfall over coastal parts of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and North Coast Tamil Nadu.

In East and Central parts of the country, scattered light to moderate rains will be seen over East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Jharkhand.

Coming down to the West Coast, we could see the feeble trough extending from South Maharashtra to Kerala. Moderate rains will be observed at many places while heavy showers will be seen over few parts of Coastal Karnataka, Konkan & Goa. But, Monsoon will remain subdued over Kerala and interiors of Karnataka. Scattered rains will continue over Maharashtra , Rayalaseema, some parts of Tamil Nadu.

Talking about the major cities, Mumbai will receive good rains in few parts. But, Chennai and Kolkata will witness light rains only. Weather in Delhi will be mainly warm and sunny with very bleak chances rain. Moderate northwesterly winds will be blowing over the region.
