Cyclone Phethai to give rain in Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha

Since the past few days, dry weather has been prevailing over Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and Telangana.

However, in the presence of Cyclonic storm“Phethai” over Southwest Bay of Bengal, clouding has increased over these areas during the last 24 to 36 hours.

This system would move in northwest directions and is likely to cross Andhra Pradesh coast between Kakinada and Ongole around December 17.

With the approach of this system, clouding will increase and further become more dense. Moreover, surface winds will increase and become moderate.

For the next 12-18 hours, dry weather will continue. Thereafter, light to moderate rain and thundershower may occur over many places of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana such as Warangal, Nalgonda , Hyderabad, Hanamkonda, Adilabad, Khammam and Guntur.

Likewise, places such as Jagdalpur, Bijapur, Bastar, Raipur, Durg, Bilaspur, Rajnandgaon, Koriya and Sarguja in Chhattisgarh will experience light to moderate rains.

Moreover, light to moderate rains are also possible over eastern parts of Vidarbha in Maharashtra.

Talking about the temperatures, maximums over Ambikapur in Chhattisgarh have been recorded around 21.1℃ while minimums around 9.7℃. On the other hand, maximums over Nizamabad in Telangana have been recorded around 28.1℃ while minimums around 15.9℃ during the last 24 hours.

In the coming days, night temperatures are expected to increase while day maximums will show a significant decrease.
