Delhiites have been reeling under intense heat for quite some time now. Ice cream trolleys are seen more than usual and water taps has more crowd engaged than anywhere else these days. The summer heat has taken a toll over Delhiites and weather gods are not showing any mercy whatsoever.
Each day the maximum temperature only increases and no respite has been seen for quite a long time now. Now, the maximum at the Palam observatory in Delhi has even reached the 40-degree mark. On Friday, the maximum settled at 40.2 degrees. The minimum temperature here was recorded at 22.8 degrees which is not as bad.
As far as the Safdarjung observatory is concerned, maximum temperature has been a few notches above the normal levels here as well. Yesterday, while the maximum temperature settled at a good 38.6 degrees, the minimums were at 23.2 degrees.
The intense summer heat during the day can be attributed to the uninterrupted flow of hot and dry north northwesterly winds from Pakistan via Rajasthan. Weather in both Pakistan and Rajasthan is already hot and temperatures are settling well above the normal levels.
As per weathermen at Skymet, weather conditions will remain the same throughout the weekend. In fact, the temperatures are expected to settle at similar levels during the next 24 to 48 hours as well. Unfortunately, this weekend will be one of those where you prefer to stay in your homes rather than stepping out in the sun.
