Delhi sees lowest maximum since 2015 in first 10 days of April, gradual rise expected

April 10, 2023 5:03 PM |

Delhi and the NCR region has recorded the hottest day yesterday at 34.8 degrees, which has been the highest of this year so far. However, while these temperatures are the highest, they are within the range of normal levels.

The temperatures were running below normal levels because of unusual twist in weather conditions. Minimums even now are below normals around 15-16 degrees or so. The month of April starts at 34-35 degrees, midway in the month it goes to 36 degrees and by the end of the month goes to 38 degrees.

While the maximum is the highest this year, it happens to be the lowest in the last decade or so for the first ten days of the month. Last year, the maximums had crossed 40 degrees on two occasions in the first ten days of April itself with the highest being 42.4 degrees.

Now, temperatures will rise but still remain close to the normal levels and we do not expect heat wave to be seen anytime soon. It may rise to 38 degrees in the third week, which is the usual temperature around that time.
