A dry Janamashtami will be followed by a dry week in Delhi as the weather forecast shows hardly any rain in the first week of September.
“Though it is too early to comment, but as of now, our long term weather models show that the capital city could have below normal rainfall for the entire month of September. The next seven days will definitely see very little rain in Delhi, with occasional thundershowers”, says Mahesh Palawat, Head of the Meteorological Team at Skymet Weather.
He further said that though rain will be less in Delhi, the weather will be relatively comfortable and not so humid. This is mainly because of a change in the wind pattern. Drier westerly winds will lead to a significant drop in the humidity levels, making the days less muggy. Maximum temperature may not go beyond 34⁰C in the city.
Meanwhile, Mumbai too is expected to have a dry week ahead. “A continuous lack of a strong monsoon surge along the west coast of peninsular India is the major reason for little rain in Mumbai. And there isn’t any hope of rain increasing in the city anytime soon”, adds Mahesh Palawat.
