After heavy rains over central and northwest parts of the country, Monsoon rains have increased over South Peninsula. Due to commencement of dry Northwesterly winds, weather has gone almost dry over the entire Northwest and Central India.

These weather conditions can be attributed to the presence of multiple systems which are affecting South Peninsula presently.

A cyclonic circulation is present over West-central Arabian sea off South Maharashtra and Goa Coast. Another cyclonic circulation can be seen over Southeast and adjoining Central Bengal. Moreover, a North-south trough is also extending from South Interior Karnataka to Comorin across Interior Tamil Nadu.

Due to these persisting weather systems, we expect good rains over the states of Karnataka and Interior Tamil Nadu. Although, scattered rains may occur over the areas of Kerala, Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Rain intensity will be less over Coastal Tamil Nadu and Telangana. These rain activities are expected to continue for next two to three days. Thereafter, due to weakening of these weather systems, rain intensity is likely to decrease once again. But at the same time, we do not expect weather to become absolutely dry. On and off rains are expected to continue.
